Injury Recovery

Also known as injury rehab or rehab training. These sessions assist with injury recovery, chronic pain and help with setbacks for those who engage in a regular fitness routine or athletic events (fight training). Movement assessment is included where needed and your program will be progressive. Also recommended for beginners and those who attend regular remedial treatment but do not have an exercise plan in place - this session can include a full workout to improve overall fitness and function, working safely with the area of concern.

Remedial Massage

Having a fully qualified massage therapist on-site is a luxury at My Bodyworx that we certainly don’t take for granted. It allows us to provide a holistic approach to health that many other fitness studios simply don’t offer and it is an invaluable tool for our members and athletes alike.

There are many benefits to this ancient practice that ensure optimum body health and wellness as well as injury prevention and cure.

Taping

Taping can be an effective measure for athletes looking to protect themselves from existing and potential injuries. It is commonly used as a secondary method of rehabilitation which aims to restrict movement in injured parts, reduce swelling, provide support and protection during the healing process. Though it may not completely replace traditional treatment methods such as physio-therapy or other forms of first aid care, taping offers several important benefits that should not be overlooked.

Dry Needling

Trigger-point dry needling is an innovative procedure that involves carefully inserting thin needles into the skin and muscle to target myofascial trigger points (MTrP). These spots, which are often in skeletal muscles, can be identified by their hypersensitivity and a palpable nodule within a taut band. Depending on the area being treated, this technique may make use of shallow or deep tissue penetration for maximum effectivity.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient form of alternative therapy that has been used to treat pain and muscle stiffness over the centuries. Unlike a massage, where pressure is applied onto muscles, cupping applies gentle suction in order to relieve tension on connective tissue and improve blood flow in the affected areas. This can help reduce muscular pains while making fascia more elastic - giving your joints improved mobility!
